Last Man Standing Review

If you haven't heard, Last Man Standing, a TV show starring Tim Allen has been canceled. Many people have been saying that the cancellation was due to the show's and Allen's political stance. That may or may not be true, and that's not what I want to write about.

Have you ever heard of the Streisand effect? Well, I never watched Last Man Standing before today, this was for 2 reasons: I don't own a TV and cable subscription, and I wasn't that interested. Now that it's canceled, and on Netflix, I've decided to watch it.

I've only watched the first 3 episodes, but I've really enjoyed it. It's sweet. It's a classic family sit-com. I definitely recommend it.

The show is definitely conservative leaning. Whether or not this actually reflects the creators' and actors' values, or if it's just to appeal to a certain demographic, I'm not going to speculate. The show makes fun of SJWs, communists, socialist, and beta-males - at least so far in the first season and 3 episodes. This is all appealing to conservatives, and right-wingers, and if you consider yourself one, you may like Last Man Standing.

Personally, I think it could be better. One of the characters is a single mother who is working a full time job. She still lives with her parents, in their home, and I don't why she can't just stay home and take care of her son rather than send him to a SJW indoctrination pre-school. Thankfully, Tim Allen's character calls out the school's bullshit for it is, but by the end of the episode, the kid ends up back in that same pre-school. I get it, sometimes you have to compromise, but do you know what you don't compromise on? Your values. At least there is nothing great about the pre-school or its teacher, and he is displayed the pathetic tool that he is.

Thankfully, reality is illuminating the dangers of this SJW bullshit. Hopefully we learn this sooner rather than later.
