Logan Review

Logan is a horror movie. Ok, not a true horror film, but it isn't a true action flick or drama either. It has all of these elements, and it's a rather refreshing take on the X-Men franchise thus far.

Viewed as a horror film, it has more in common with the old monster flicks and body horror films than modern slashers, supernatural horrors, or psychological horrors.

Who are the monsters? Well, everyone is a monster. The Reavers, Logan, Xavier, and yes, even X-23. Aside from a handful of characters, expect everyone to be monstrous in their own way. I won't go into detail about these characters, but if you look for it, you should see it.

The music during the fight scenes, in particular two, isn't the triumphant, victorious music of a summer blockbuster, but more dark, and desperate. The first scene, towards the middle, especially played into the horror genre and was reminiscent of slasher flicks.

What else can I say? I want to discuss so much more, but I don't want to spoil it.

Regardless, I recommend it.
